# Create and Sign In to Your Account (/docs/getting-started/create-account-and-sign-in)



## Create an Account [#create-an-account]

1. Open the sign-up page.
2. Enter your email address and password.
3. Accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
4. Submit the form.
5. Enter the six-digit verification code sent to your email.

GeoQR sends a code, not a clickable email-verification link.

## Verify Your Email [#verify-your-email]

The verification code expires after five minutes. Enter it on the verification page.

If the code is invalid, expired, or has reached the attempt limit:

* select **Resend verification code** to receive a usable code
* select **Change email** if the address is wrong
* return to login if you already have a verified account

If GeoQR asks you to verify your email during sign-in, use **Resend verification code** on that page when you need a new code.

## Finish Account Setup [#finish-account-setup]

After verification, confirm your display name. You can optionally upload a JPG, PNG, or WEBP profile image. Your verified email is shown as read-only.

GeoQR then continues to organization selection or creation. When possible, it returns you to the page you originally tried to open.

## Sign In [#sign-in]

Enter your email and password. Select **Remember me** if you want to stay signed in longer on that device.

After sign-in, GeoQR opens the page you were trying to reach when possible. It may first ask you to choose an organization.

## Forgot Your Password [#forgot-your-password]

Use **Forgot password** from the login page. Open the reset email, choose a new password, and return to sign-in.

## Two-Factor Authentication [#two-factor-authentication]

When two-factor authentication is enabled, complete password sign-in and then use either:

* the current six-digit code from your authenticator app
* one unused backup code

You can select **Trust this device for 30 days**. If the sign-in challenge expires, return to the login page and start again.

Backup codes are single-use. Store them safely when enabling 2FA.
