# GeoQR Help Center (/docs)
Find the task you want to complete. You do not need to read the help center from beginning to end.
## The Fastest Way to Create a QR Code [#the-fastest-way-to-create-a-qr-code]
1. [Create or sign in to your account](/docs/getting-started/create-account-and-sign-in).
2. Join an organization or create one on the Free plan.
3. Open **QR Codes** and select **Create QR code**.
4. Choose **Standard QR**, add the web page people should visit, and select a design.
5. Create the QR code and scan it with your phone before sharing it.
## Find Help by Problem [#find-help-by-problem]
Open [Invitation and Login Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/invitation-and-login-issues).
Open [QR Code and Scan Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/qr-code-and-scan-issues).
Open [Billing and Access Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/billing-and-access-issues).

# Account and Security (/docs/account-security)
Use the Account settings area to control your personal profile and sign-in security.
## Account Information [#account-information]
You can update:
* your display name
* your timezone
Analytics dates and the activity heatmap use UTC. Changing your account timezone does not change those boundaries.
## Recommended Security Setup [#recommended-security-setup]
Keep your password updated if you use password-based sign-in.
Enable two-factor authentication with an authenticator app.
Save backup codes outside your main device when GeoQR shows them.
## Delete Your Account [#delete-your-account]
You can delete your account from the Danger Zone in Account settings.
Important behavior:
* account deletion is permanent
* password-based accounts must confirm with the current password
* if your session is too old, GeoQR may ask you to sign in again before deletion succeeds
* you cannot delete your account while you are still an owner of any organization
When account deletion succeeds, GeoQR removes your sign-in access, memberships, invitations you sent, and your personal notification state.
GeoQR does not delete shared organization resources just because you created or last edited them. If you still own an organization, delete it or transfer ownership first.
## Common Security Questions [#common-security-questions]
If you use password-based sign-in, you can update your password from Settings. If you do not yet have a password set, use the password setup or reset flow first.
GeoQR blocks account deletion while you still own one or more organizations. Delete those organizations or transfer ownership first, then retry account deletion.
Enter your current password, scan the setup code with your authenticator app, enter the latest 6-digit code, and save the backup codes GeoQR shows you.
Each backup code can be used once, the codes are not shown continuously in settings, and regenerating them replaces the old set.

# Notifications (/docs/account-security/notifications)
GeoQR uses notifications to call attention to issues that may affect your QR codes.
## Where Notifications Appear [#where-notifications-appear]
Use the bell icon in the app header to open the notification inbox.
Inside the inbox, you can:
* view all notifications
* switch to unread only
* mark all as read
* open the related QR code directly
## What Notifications Are For [#what-notifications-are-for]
Notifications are focused on QR destination issues that need review.
Examples include:
* a destination that looks invalid
* a destination that needs attention before it should be trusted
At the moment, the notification system is centered on redirect safety rather than general activity updates.
## Email and In-App Delivery [#email-and-in-app-delivery]
For each notification type, you can choose whether you want:
* in-app delivery
* email delivery
* both
These preferences are managed in Settings.
If you want fewer emails, keep in-app notifications enabled and turn off email for lower-priority review work.
You can also reset unsaved changes in notification settings before saving new preferences.
## What Happens When You Open One [#what-happens-when-you-open-one]
When you open a notification, GeoQR takes you to the related QR code so you can review and fix the problem faster.
## A Simple Way To Work Through Notifications [#a-simple-way-to-work-through-notifications]
1. Open the unread tab.
2. Start with the newest issue.
3. Open the related QR code.
4. Fix the destination or design problem.
5. Test again.
## If the Inbox Looks Empty [#if-the-inbox-looks-empty]
If you do not see anything in the inbox:
* switch between **All** and **Unread**
* confirm your active organization is the one you expect
* check your notification preferences in Settings
* remember that notifications appear only when GeoQR detects redirect issues that need review

# Billing (/docs/billing)
Billing belongs to the organization. New organizations begin on Free and can upgrade to Starter, Growth, or Scale when they need more capacity.
## Billing Overview [#billing-overview]
The Billing page shows the current plan, subscription status when applicable, renewal or end dates, and current usage.
Free is available without a subscription. Paid plans are recurring subscriptions managed through the existing checkout and billing portal.
If Billing shows that an older subscription is **Trialing**, it also shows when that existing trial ends.
## Upgrade from Free [#upgrade-from-free]
1. Open **Settings → Billing**.
2. Compare Starter, Growth, and Scale.
3. Select the plan.
4. Complete checkout.
If checkout is abandoned or fails, the organization stays on Free. Return to Billing when you are ready to try again.
## Usage Limits [#usage-limits]
Plans control:
* QR codes
* media files
* connected domains
* accepted organization members
* visible monthly scans on Free
* analytics history
Paid plans include unlimited scans. Full limits are listed in [Choose a Plan](/docs/getting-started/choose-a-plan).
## What Happens After a Cancellation or Downgrade [#what-happens-after-a-cancellation-or-downgrade]
When paid access ends, the organization falls back to Free. GeoQR does not delete QR codes, connected domains, members, or media merely because the new plan has lower limits.
QR codes and domains above the new limit remain live so printed codes do not break. You cannot edit the items above the limit until you:
* upgrade to a plan that covers current usage, or
* ask an owner to delete enough QR codes, or delete enough domains, to return within the limit
GeoQR keeps the earliest created QR codes and earliest added domains editable within the new allowance.
Deleting a QR code frees a place in the plan, but it also stops that QR code from working and cannot be undone. Do not delete a QR code that is still printed or distributed.
When a downgrade shortens your analytics history, data older than the new limit can be permanently deleted. Upgrading later cannot restore data that has already been deleted.
Member overage does not remove teammates automatically. New invitations are blocked at the accepted-member limit until you remove a member or upgrade.
## Free Scan Allowance [#free-scan-allowance]
Free shows up to 2,500 scans in Analytics each calendar month after recognized automated traffic is removed. GeoQR warns you when usage reaches 80% and again at the limit.
Reaching the limit does not stop redirects. You can wait for the next monthly reset or upgrade. After an upgrade, additional scans that GeoQR still retains can become visible immediately.
## GS1 Configuration Export [#gs1-configuration-export]
GS1 configuration export requires a paid plan. After cancellation or expiry, GeoQR gives you 30 days to download a read-only copy of the GS1 configuration.
## Organization Deletion [#organization-deletion]
Only an owner can request organization deletion. If the organization has an active subscription, open **Settings → Billing**, select **Manage subscription**, and cancel it. Then wait until the paid access shown in Billing has ended before requesting deletion from the organization's Danger Zone.
If Billing shows **Trialing**, use **Manage subscription** to cancel it when available, then wait for that existing trial access to end. Deletion is scheduled and can be canceled during the seven-day waiting period.

# Events (/docs/analytics/events)
Events shows individual scans. Use it when you want the details behind the totals and charts in Analytics.
## What Each Row Shows [#what-each-row-shows]
An event can show:
* time
* QR code name
* approximate city, region, and country
* device type, browser, and operating system
* the website that sent the visitor, when available
* the page GeoQR opened
Location is approximate and may be unavailable. Device and referring-site details can also appear as **Unknown** or **Direct or unavailable** when GeoQR cannot determine them reliably.
If the QR code was deleted after the scan, the row says **Deleted QR code**. A row that cannot be matched to a known QR says **Unknown QR**.
## Filter Events [#filter-events]
Choose a date range, then narrow the list by campaign, tag, QR code, location, device, browser, operating system, referring website, destination, routing outcome, or client category. You can use more than one filter at a time.
* **Routing outcome** shows why GeoQR chose the destination, such as a device rule, country rule, or default destination.
* **Client category** separates requests GeoQR identifies as human, machine, or unknown. Recognized machine requests are excluded from Events before filters are applied, so selecting **Machine** will normally show no results.
Selecting several values in the same filter includes any of those values. Adding a different kind of filter narrows the list further. If a scan seems to be missing, clear the filters and add them back one at a time.
## Older Scans [#older-scans]
Use the page controls to move through results and change the number of rows shown at once.
How far back you can look depends on your plan. If your selected dates start before the oldest stored scan, GeoQR shows only the available period.
Scans older than your plan's storage period are permanently deleted. Upgrading later cannot restore scans that have already been deleted.
## Privacy and Interpretation [#privacy-and-interpretation]
GeoQR does not store the visitor's raw IP address or the full technical identifier sent by their browser. Location and device details are estimates, so do not use an event row as proof of a person's identity or exact location.
The Events table shows stored scan activity. For an explanation of totals, estimated unique scanners, and privacy protections, read [Analytics](/docs/analytics).

# Analytics (/docs/analytics)
Analytics helps you answer practical questions about your QR codes:
* Which QR codes receive the most scans?
* Is scan activity growing or falling?
* Which countries, devices, and destinations are most common?
* How did a campaign perform?
## A Simple Review Routine [#a-simple-review-routine]
1. Choose the period you want to review.
2. Check **Total scans** and **Estimated daily unique scanners**.
3. Use a QR code, campaign, or tag filter to focus on one part of your work.
4. Choose a breakdown such as QR code, country, device, or destination.
5. Open [Events](/docs/analytics/events) only when you need to inspect individual scans.
## Understand the Summary [#understand-the-summary]
* **Total scans** shows scans GeoQR considers genuine activity after filtering recognized automated traffic.
* **Estimated daily unique scanners** estimates how many different scanners were active each day. It is useful for trends, but it is not an exact count of people.
* **Growth** compares the selected period with the preceding period of the same length.
* **Countries reached** counts countries represented in the results.
The chart shows scans over time. The activity heatmap shows the busiest weekdays and hours.
## Focus the Results with Filters [#focus-the-results-with-filters]
Filters help you answer a narrower question. For example:
* Choose a **campaign** to review one launch.
* Choose a **tag** to compare QR codes with the same label.
* Choose a **QR code** to review one placement.
* Choose a **country**, **device**, **browser**, or **operating system** to understand the audience.
* Choose a **destination** to see which pages received traffic.
* Choose **Routing outcome** to see why GeoQR chose a destination, such as a device rule, country rule, or the default.
You can combine filters. When you select several tags, a QR code must have all of them to be included. Clear the filters to return to the organization-wide view.
## Compare Results [#compare-results]
The breakdown cards can compare campaigns, QR codes, countries, regions, cities, devices, browsers, operating systems, referring websites, or destinations.
Destination comparisons group links by the address before any `?` query values or `#` page section. For example, visits to the same page with different UTM tracking values—or any other query values—appear together as one destination.
Location is approximate and may be unavailable. Small city and referrer groups with fewer than five scans are hidden to protect privacy. A missing group therefore does not always mean there were no scans.
## Dates and Available History [#dates-and-available-history]
GeoQR measures analytics days using UTC, a universal time standard. Depending on your location, a day can begin or end at a different local time. Changing your account timezone does not change these boundaries.
Each plan includes a set amount of analytics history. If you request dates older than your plan includes, GeoQR adjusts the range to the oldest available date and shows a notice.
After a downgrade, analytics older than the new plan's history limit can be permanently deleted. Upgrading later cannot restore data that has already been deleted. GeoQR does not currently offer an analytics download, so record important totals or take screenshots before downgrading if you need to keep them.
## Free Monthly Scan Allowance [#free-monthly-scan-allowance]
Free includes 2,500 scans shown in Analytics each calendar month. The allowance resets according to UTC.
GeoQR shows **Approaching limit** when you have used at least 80% and **Limit reached** at 100%. Reaching the limit does not stop your QR codes from working; people are still redirected normally.
The allowance is shared by the whole organization and is applied before your filters. Choosing one QR code, campaign, or country filters the scans already included in the organization's allowance; it does not provide a separate 2,500 scans for that selection.
You can wait for the monthly reset or upgrade. If you upgrade, additional scans that GeoQR still retains can become visible immediately.
## How Privacy-Friendly Estimates Work [#how-privacy-friendly-estimates-work]
GeoQR does not store raw IP addresses or complete browser identification strings to calculate estimated daily unique scanners. The estimate resets each day, so the same person can count again on another day. Shared devices, privacy tools, and network changes can also affect the result.
Recognized bots and automatic system checks are excluded from the main scan totals. Values can appear as **Unknown** when GeoQR cannot identify them reliably.

# Campaigns (/docs/campaigns)
A campaign groups QR codes that belong to the same launch, event, store, promotion, or other initiative.
For example, a summer promotion might have separate QR codes for posters, table cards, and packaging. Assigning them to one campaign makes the group easier to find and compare.
## Create a Campaign [#create-a-campaign]
1. Open **Campaigns**.
2. Select **Create campaign**.
3. Enter a recognizable name and optional description.
4. Add planning dates when they are useful to your team.
5. Save the campaign.
Planning dates are for organization only. They do not activate, pause, or schedule any QR code behavior.
All organization members can create campaigns. An owner or admin is required to edit, archive, restore, or change an existing campaign.
## Add QR Codes [#add-qr-codes]
You can assign a campaign while creating or editing a QR code. You can also open a campaign and create a QR code directly from it.
The campaign page lists its assigned QR codes. Changing an assignment affects future scans; it does not move earlier scan results into a different campaign.
To find campaign QR codes alongside the rest of your work, open **QR Codes** and use the campaign filter.
## Add Tracking Labels [#add-tracking-labels]
UTM tracking adds short labels to the destination link so tools such as Google Analytics can show where a visit came from.
For example, a campaign could use:
* **Source:** `poster`
* **Medium:** `qr-code`
* **Campaign:** `summer-sale`
* **Content:** `shop-window`
Campaign tracking labels apply by default to assigned QR codes. You can override individual values on a QR code when it needs different tracking labels.
## Customize One QR Code [#customize-one-qr-code]
Each tracking field can:
* keep using the campaign value
* use a different value for that QR code
* be left blank for that QR code
This is useful when most labels are shared but one placement needs a more specific value. For example, all QR codes could use `summer-sale`, while the **Content** value identifies `shop-window` or `table-card`.
Changing a shared campaign value updates future visits from QR codes that still use it. Earlier analytics are not rewritten.
Source identifies where the visit came from, Medium identifies the channel, Campaign names the initiative, Content distinguishes placements or versions, and Term is an optional extra label. The destination receives these as `utm_source`, `utm_medium`, `utm_campaign`, `utm_content`, and `utm_term`.
## Review Campaign Results [#review-campaign-results]
The campaign page summarizes the last 30 days with **Total scans**, **Estimated daily unique scanners**, and **Countries reached**.
For other date ranges, charts, and comparisons by QR code or destination, open **Analytics** and select the campaign filter.
Tracking labels help other analytics tools categorize visits. They do not prove that a visit produced a sale or other conversion.
## Archive a Finished Campaign [#archive-a-finished-campaign]
Archive campaigns you no longer need in the active list. Archiving does not deactivate their QR codes or change where scans go. Archived campaigns remain available when you filter historical Analytics. Open the archived view if you need to restore one later.

# Domains (/docs/domains)
Domains let you move QR codes onto branded links instead of relying only on the default organization option.
Custom domains require a paid plan. Free includes no custom-domain capacity.
You need access to the company where your domain is managed, such as Cloudflare, GoDaddy, or another domain provider. If someone else manages it, send them the settings GeoQR displays and ask them to add the records for you.
## Add a Domain [#add-a-domain]
Open the Domains page and select **Add domain**.
Enter the hostname or subdomain you want to use.
Add the DNS records GeoQR shows you exactly as written.
Wait for the domain to become active before you assign it to an important live QR code.
Most teams use a dedicated subdomain for QR codes rather than their main website root, because it is easier to manage and test safely. A dedicated subdomain keeps QR routing separate from your main website and is usually easier to update, test, and troubleshoot.
Start with a subdomain you control, such as `qr.yourbrand.com`, and wait until it is fully active before assigning it to an important live QR code.
Examples many teams prefer:
* `qr.yourbrand.com`
* `go.yourbrand.com`
* `scan.yourbrand.com`
## What GeoQR May Ask You To Add [#what-geoqr-may-ask-you-to-add]
Depending on the domain state, GeoQR may show:
* a CNAME record
* a TXT verification record
* an extra GeoQR TXT ownership record when GeoQR needs to confirm that your organization controls the domain
These are copy-and-paste settings. Match the record type, name, and value exactly in your domain provider. The labels **CNAME** and **TXT** are included because you will see the same names there; you do not need to understand how they work.
## When the Domain Becomes Usable [#when-the-domain-becomes-usable]
After the DNS records are added correctly, the domain moves into an active state and becomes available for QR codes.
Changes can take a little time to become visible and for the secure connection to become ready.
Until the domain is active, use another available domain when creating a QR code.
Do not switch an important live QR to a branded domain until that domain is fully active and tested.
On the Domains page, GeoQR also shows the current status, how many QR codes are linked to the domain, and when it was last checked.
## Common Domain Questions [#common-domain-questions]
Confirm the record name and value in the domain's DNS settings, and allow time for the changes to appear. If it still is not ready, correct any typos, then refresh the domain status from the row actions menu.
Yes. The row actions menu can copy the CNAME target and any TXT verification values GeoQR is currently expecting.
No. Move any QR codes that still use the domain to another domain first, then return and remove it.
Domains above the current plan limit remain connected so existing QR codes keep working, but they become read-only. Delete other domains or upgrade until this domain is within the allowance.
No. A GS1 Digital Link QR keeps the serving domain selected when it was created. Confirm the domain before creating the QR code.
## What To Do Next [#what-to-do-next]
When the domain becomes active:
1. open an existing QR code or create a new one
2. select the domain in the QR flow
3. save and test the QR again

# Choose a Plan (/docs/getting-started/choose-a-plan)
Every new organization starts on the permanent Free plan without payment details or checkout. Upgrade from Billing when the organization needs more capacity.
## Plan Limits [#plan-limits]
| Plan | QR codes | Media files | Domains | Members | Scans shown in Analytics | Analytics history |
| ------- | -------: | ----------: | ------: | ------: | ------------------------ | ----------------- |
| Free | 1 | 5 | 0 | 1 | 2,500 per UTC month | 30 days |
| Starter | 10 | 25 | 1 | 3 | Unlimited | 1 year |
| Growth | 75 | 100 | 10 | 10 | Unlimited | 3 years |
| Scale | 300 | 250 | 100 | 25 | Unlimited | 5 years |
Member limits count accepted organization members. Pending invitations do not reserve seats.
## Start on Free [#start-on-free]
After creating an organization, continue directly into GeoQR. Free supports one QR code, five media files, one member, and 30 days of analytics. Custom domains are not included.
Free shows up to 2,500 scans in Analytics each calendar month after recognized automated traffic is removed. Reaching the limit does not stop the QR code from working. Scan visibility resumes at the next monthly reset.
Free uses GeoQR's standard link domain because custom domains require a paid plan. GeoQR does not add its logo to your QR artwork or show an extra GeoQR-branded page between the scan and your destination.
## Upgrade to a Paid Plan [#upgrade-to-a-paid-plan]
Open **Settings → Billing**, compare the available plans, and start checkout for Starter, Growth, or Scale.
If checkout is abandoned or fails, the organization remains safely on Free. Retry from Billing when ready.
Owners and admins normally handle billing actions.
## Changing or Ending a Paid Plan [#changing-or-ending-a-paid-plan]
Use **Manage subscription** in Billing to change or cancel a paid subscription. When paid access ends, the organization falls back to Free.
If current usage exceeds Free limits, existing QR codes and domains remain live so printed codes do not break. Items above the limit cannot be edited until you upgrade or reduce usage.

# Create and Sign In to Your Account (/docs/getting-started/create-account-and-sign-in)
## Create an Account [#create-an-account]
1. Open the sign-up page.
2. Enter your email address and password.
3. Accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
4. Submit the form.
5. Enter the six-digit verification code sent to your email.
GeoQR sends a code, not a clickable email-verification link.
## Verify Your Email [#verify-your-email]
The verification code expires after five minutes. Enter it on the verification page.
If the code is invalid, expired, or has reached the attempt limit:
* select **Resend verification code** to receive a usable code
* select **Change email** if the address is wrong
* return to login if you already have a verified account
If GeoQR asks you to verify your email during sign-in, use **Resend verification code** on that page when you need a new code.
## Finish Account Setup [#finish-account-setup]
After verification, confirm your display name. You can optionally upload a JPG, PNG, or WEBP profile image. Your verified email is shown as read-only.
GeoQR then continues to organization selection or creation. When possible, it returns you to the page you originally tried to open.
## Sign In [#sign-in]
Enter your email and password. Select **Remember me** if you want to stay signed in longer on that device.
After sign-in, GeoQR opens the page you were trying to reach when possible. It may first ask you to choose an organization.
## Forgot Your Password [#forgot-your-password]
Use **Forgot password** from the login page. Open the reset email, choose a new password, and return to sign-in.
## Two-Factor Authentication [#two-factor-authentication]
When two-factor authentication is enabled, complete password sign-in and then use either:
* the current six-digit code from your authenticator app
* one unused backup code
You can select **Trust this device for 30 days**. If the sign-in challenge expires, return to the login page and start again.
Backup codes are single-use. Store them safely when enabling 2FA.

# Getting Started (/docs/getting-started)
GeoQR setup changes depending on whether you are creating a new organization, accepting an invitation, or returning to an organization you already belong to.
## New Account and New Organization [#new-account-and-new-organization]
1. Create an account and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
2. Enter the six-digit code sent to your email.
3. Confirm your name and optionally add a profile image.
4. Create an organization with a name and review its generated unique identifier.
5. Enter GeoQR on the permanent Free plan.
You do not need payment details to start on Free. Upgrade later from Billing when you need higher limits.
## Invited Member [#invited-member]
1. Open the invitation and review the organization, role, and expiry.
2. Sign in or create an account with the invited email address.
3. Complete verification and profile setup when required.
4. Return to the invitation and explicitly accept it.
## Existing Organization [#existing-organization]
After sign-in, GeoQR restores an active or remembered organization when possible. If you belong to more than one organization or have pending invitations, onboarding lets you choose what to open.
If you opened a specific GeoQR page before signing in, GeoQR returns you there after you finish signing in and any required setup.
# Join or Create an Organization (/docs/getting-started/join-or-create-a-workspace)
Your QR codes, campaigns, tags, domains, media, analytics, members, and billing belong to an organization.
## Accept an Invitation [#accept-an-invitation]
1. Open the invitation link.
2. Review the organization name, invited role, email address, and expiry.
3. Sign in with the invited email, or create an account with that exact address.
4. Complete email verification and profile setup when required.
5. Return to the invitation preview.
6. Select **Accept invitation** or decline it.
The signed-in account email must match the invited email. If it does not, switch accounts before accepting.
An expired or canceled invitation cannot be accepted. Ask an owner or admin to send a new one.
## Select an Existing Organization [#select-an-existing-organization]
If you already belong to one or more organizations, the organization choice page lists them with your role. Select the organization you want to make active.
Pending invitations can appear on the same page so you can review them before entering an organization.
## Create a New Organization [#create-a-new-organization]
1. Select **Create organization**.
2. Enter the organization name.
3. Review the generated organization identifier.
4. Create the organization.
5. Enter GeoQR on the permanent Free plan.
The creator becomes the organization owner. GeoQR calls the unique identifier a **slug**. For example, “Northwind Retail” might use `northwind-retail`. It distinguishes the organization from others and is required if an owner later confirms organization deletion. The generated value is usually the best choice.
No card or checkout is required. Upgrade later from Billing if the Free limits are not enough.
## Switch Organizations Later [#switch-organizations-later]
Open the account menu in the sidebar, find the **Organization** section, and select another organization. GeoQR changes the active organization and reloads the app in that context.

Use **Quick create** when you already know the destination and want the shortest creation flow. Enter the default web address, choose a domain, and optionally apply a saved design template.
## Switch Organizations [#switch-organizations]
Open the account menu and use its **Organization** section. Selecting another organization updates the active context for every area of GeoQR.
## A Good First Workflow [#a-good-first-workflow]
1. Create or select the correct organization.
2. Create a Standard QR code with one default destination.
3. Create it and test it with your phone.
4. Add a domain, artwork, campaign, or advanced rules only when you need them.
5. Review Analytics after scans begin.

# Media Library (/docs/media)
Use Media when your team needs reusable logos, artwork, or image assets ready before the QR design step starts.
## What the Media Library Is For [#what-the-media-library-is-for]
Use Media when you want to:
* upload logo or brand images
* reuse artwork across multiple QR codes
* preview the files already available in your organization
* remove files you no longer need
## Uploading Files [#uploading-files]
Drag and drop a file into the upload area or click to browse from your device.
Let the upload finish, then open the preview to confirm you picked the correct asset.
Return to the QR design step and apply the file only after the preview looks correct.
Supported image types:
* JPG or JPEG
* PNG
* SVG
* WEBP
Uploads start immediately after you drop or select a file.
For best results, use clean, high-quality images and avoid uploading multiple versions of the same file unless your team really needs them.
## Common Media Questions [#common-media-questions]
GeoQR applies the plan's media-file limit per organization: Free 5, Starter 25, Growth 100, and Scale 250. At the limit, delete an unused file or upgrade before uploading another.
The preview confirms you uploaded the right artwork before you apply it to a QR design. It is the fastest way to catch duplicate files or the wrong logo variation.
GeoQR checks whether the file is still referenced by a QR code. If it is, update those QR codes first, then return and delete the file.

# Create a QR Code (/docs/qr-codes/create-a-qr-code)
## Before You Begin [#before-you-begin]
Decide whether you need:
* a **Standard QR** for a website, campaign, event, menu, or other everyday use
* a **GS1 Digital Link** for a retail product that already has a GTIN (the number below its barcode)
* a custom domain if you want the QR link to use your brand
* a campaign or tags if you want to group related QR codes
* a saved logo or image if you want to include one in the design
The Free plan allows one QR code. Every QR code is active as soon as it is created and counts toward the plan limit, so you must delete an unused QR code or upgrade before creating another one.
## Create the QR Code [#create-the-qr-code]
1. Open **QR Codes** and select **Create QR code**.
2. Choose **Standard QR** or **GS1 Digital Link**.
3. Add a clear internal name.
4. For GS1, enter and validate the GTIN.
5. Select the serving domain.
6. Add a valid HTTPS default destination.
7. Optionally assign a campaign and add tracking labels for tools such as Google Analytics.
8. Optionally add device, country, device-and-country, or scheduled destinations.
9. Customize the design and review its scanability.
10. Create the QR code.
## The Default Destination Is the Safety Net [#the-default-destination-is-the-safety-net]
Every routing setup needs a dependable default destination. GeoQR uses it when no device or country rule matches, when device or country detection is unavailable, and outside any temporary schedule window.
Read [Choose Where Scans Go](/docs/qr-codes/destination-rules) before adding device, country, or scheduled destinations.
## Campaigns, Tags, and Tracking Labels [#campaigns-tags-and-tracking-labels]
Campaigns group related QR codes and can provide tracking labels. Those labels apply by default when you assign the campaign, and you can override individual values on the QR code.
Tags are reusable organization labels. You can assign them after the QR record exists.
## Design and Scanability [#design-and-scanability]
Use enough contrast, preserve the quiet zone, and test any logo or styling choice. A visually attractive code can still be difficult to scan when it is printed too small or placed on a low-contrast background.
See [Design and Media](/docs/qr-codes/design-and-media) and [Design Templates](/docs/qr-codes/design-templates).
## Active Immediately [#active-immediately]
Creating a QR code activates its serving link immediately and counts it toward the plan's QR code limit. Later saved changes update the live behavior behind the same encoded link.
## Before You Distribute It [#before-you-distribute-it]
1. Scan the rendered code from a real phone.
2. Test iOS, Android, country, and combined rules that matter to the rollout.
3. Test immediately before, during, and after any scheduled window.
4. Confirm the expected campaign tracking labels and any QR-specific overrides appear in the final link.
5. Verify the final printed or exported artwork, not only the browser preview.

# Design and Media (/docs/qr-codes/design-and-media)
GeoQR lets you customize both the QR itself and any supporting frame or media treatment.
## Design Options [#design-options]
Depending on your QR setup, you can customize:
* colors
* gradients
* dot and corner styles
* frame style
* frame text
* optional media overlay
## Design Templates [#design-templates]
Use **Templates** in the QR editor when you want to reuse an approved appearance across QR codes.
Template actions include:
* **Apply template** to update the current QR appearance
* **Save as template** to store the current appearance for the organization
* rename or archive saved templates from the apply dialog
Templates change only design fields. They keep the QR name, domain, campaign, tags, UTM configuration, destinations, routing rules, and schedules unchanged.
## Using Media [#using-media]
You can upload images in the Media area and use them as overlays in QR designs.
Supported image types include:
* PNG
* JPG or JPEG
* SVG
* WEBP
## Good Design Practices [#good-design-practices]
* Keep enough contrast between the QR and its background.
* Avoid making the center image too large.
* Test scans before distributing the QR code widely.
* Use frame text only when it supports the action clearly.
* Save templates only after the design scans reliably on a real device.
For GS1 Digital Link artwork, keep at least four modules of clear space on every side. The optional GTIN label is visual artwork and does not change the product identifier encoded in the QR.
## If You Cannot Delete an Image [#if-you-cannot-delete-an-image]
GeoQR prevents you from deleting media that is still used by a QR code. Remove it from any QR designs first, then try again.

# Design Templates (/docs/qr-codes/design-templates)
Design templates let your organization reuse the visual setup from one QR code across other QR codes.
A template stores QR appearance only. It does not change the name, serving domain, campaign, tags, UTM configuration, destinations, routing rules, or schedules.
## What Templates Store [#what-templates-store]
Templates can include:
* dot and corner styles
* colors and gradients
* frame template, frame text, and frame colors
* margin and error correction settings
* media overlay settings
If a template uses a media overlay, the media file must still be available in the same organization.
## Save a Template [#save-a-template]
Open a QR code in the create or edit flow.
Adjust the QR appearance in the design controls until the preview looks right.
Open **Templates** and choose **Save as template**.
Enter a template name that your team can recognize later, then save it.
Use names that describe the campaign, brand system, or placement, such as "Retail shelf talker" or "Event badge".
## Apply a Template [#apply-a-template]
Open the QR code you want to design.
Open **Templates** and choose **Apply template**.
Pick the saved template and apply it.
Review the QR preview and scan-test the result before creating the QR code or saving live changes.
Applying a template updates only the design fields. Your destination setup stays in place.
## Use Templates With Quick Create [#use-templates-with-quick-create]
Quick create can apply a saved design template while creating an active QR code. This is useful when the destination is simple and the QR should use an established organization design.
Quick create asks for:
* default URL
* domain
* template, or the default look
* optional internal name
After GeoQR creates the QR code, it opens the edit screen so you can review the live setup, add device or country rules, schedules, campaign/UTM values, or tags, and adjust the design.
## Rename or Archive Templates [#rename-or-archive-templates]
From **Apply template**, each saved template includes actions to:
* apply it to the current QR code
* rename it
* archive it
Archiving removes the template from the active template list. It does not change QR codes that already used that design.
## Good Template Practices [#good-template-practices]
* Keep a small set of approved templates instead of many near-duplicates.
* Use high-contrast designs that scan reliably in normal lighting.
* Save templates only after a real-device scan test.
* Review templates when brand colors, logos, or campaign artwork changes.
* Avoid storing temporary experiments as organization templates unless the team needs them again.

# Choose Where Scans Go (/docs/qr-codes/destination-rules)
Every QR code needs a default destination. You can then add optional rules for iPhone and iPad, Android, country, or a combination of device and country.
## Always Start with the Default Destination [#always-start-with-the-default-destination]
The default destination is the page GeoQR uses when no more specific rule matches. It also protects the experience when a device or country cannot be identified.
Choose a page that is safe and useful for everyone before adding other rules.
## Understand Which Rule Wins [#understand-which-rule-wins]
When several rules could match, GeoQR checks them in this order:
1. device and country together
2. device only
3. country only
4. default destination
Example: an iPhone scan in Denmark uses an **iOS + Denmark** destination when one exists. Otherwise GeoQR tries the iOS destination, then Denmark, and finally the default.
Device detection supports iOS and Android. Other or unidentified devices continue to the matching country rule or default destination. Country detection is approximate and may occasionally be unavailable.
## Show a Temporary Page [#show-a-temporary-page]
Use a temporary destination for a limited-time offer, event, registration window, or announcement.
1. Open the destination you want to schedule.
2. Enable **Temporary destination**.
3. Enter the temporary secure web address.
4. Choose the timezone used by the event or promotion.
5. Add a start time, an end time, or both.
6. Save and test the QR code.
The temporary page is used from the selected start time until the selected end time. Before and after that window, the regular destination remains in use. Schedules do not repeat automatically.
If the temporary address later becomes invalid or fails GeoQR's safety check, scans use the regular verified destination instead of opening the temporary page.
Times affected by daylight-saving changes can be skipped or occur twice. If GeoQR rejects a selected time, choose another nearby time and save again.
## Add Campaign Tracking [#add-campaign-tracking]
UTM tracking adds labels to the final destination so an analytics tool can tell which campaign or placement produced a visit.
1. Assign a campaign that has tracking labels.
2. Keep the campaign values, which apply by default, or open the QR code's **General** tab to override individual fields for this QR code.
GeoQR first chooses the correct destination, then applies an active temporary schedule, and finally adds the applicable tracking labels.
Read [Campaigns](/docs/campaigns) for an example and an explanation of each field.
## Test Before Sharing [#test-before-sharing]
* Scan the default destination first.
* Test important device and country combinations.
* Test immediately before, during, and after a temporary window.
* Confirm the regular page opens when the temporary page is unavailable.
* Check the final address when the campaign has tracking labels.

# GS1 Digital Link (/docs/qr-codes/gs1-digital-link)
Use **GS1 Digital Link** when you are creating a QR code for a retail product that already has a GTIN, such as the number printed below its barcode.
For a poster, menu, business card, event sign, or other ordinary link, choose **Standard QR** instead.
You need a valid GTIN and at least one secure web page for the product. GeoQR checks the GTIN before the QR code can be created.
## Create a Product QR Code [#create-a-product-qr-code]
1. Open **QR Codes** and select **Create QR code**.
2. Choose **GS1 Digital Link**.
3. Enter the product's GTIN.
4. Choose the domain that should appear in the QR link.
5. Add the main page people should visit after an ordinary scan.
6. Add any extra product links you need.
7. Review the design, create, and test the finished QR code.
GeoQR accepts GTIN-8, GTIN-12, GTIN-13, and GTIN-14 values with a valid check digit.
## Choose the Main Product Page [#choose-the-main-product-page]
The default destination is the page most people should see when they scan the QR code. This could be a product page, digital product passport, support page, or another useful starting point.
Use a secure `https://` address. Test the page on a phone before creating the QR code.
## Add More Product Links [#add-more-product-links]
Extra resources let supported GS1 services find a more specific page. Examples include:
* instructions, quick start guides, tutorials, and FAQs
* safety, allergen, ingredient, and nutrition information
* sustainability, recycling, certification, and traceability information
* product videos, images, recipes, events, and promotions
* registration, reviews, support, service, and spare supplies
* Digital Product Passports, recall status, and verification services
Give each link a clear title and a secure web address. Each resource type can be added once. The editor shows the complete list of available types.
## Check Product Link Safety [#check-product-link-safety]
GeoQR checks product links for known safety problems when you save them.
GeoQR blocks QR code creation—or saving changes to an existing QR code—when a product link is known to be unsafe or its safety cannot be confirmed.
If creating or saving is blocked, confirm the address, replace or remove the affected link, and try again. A successful safety check only means GeoQR found no known safety problem; it does not prove the page is online or contains the correct information. Open every product link and scan-test the finished QR code on a phone.
## Set Destinations and Tracking [#set-destinations-and-tracking]
GS1 destinations can use the same device rules, country rules, temporary schedules, and campaign tracking as a Standard QR code.
GeoQR first chooses the matching destination, then applies an active temporary schedule, and finally adds the applicable tracking labels.
## Confirm the Domain Before Creating [#confirm-the-domain-before-creating]
The domain on a GS1 QR code cannot be changed after the QR code is created. Confirm that you control the domain and intend to keep using it before you create or print the code.
## Design for Reliable Scanning [#design-for-reliable-scanning]
Keep at least four QR modules of clear space on every side of a printed GS1 code. Test the final artwork at its real printed size.
The optional GTIN label is only visible text in the artwork. Changing that label does not change the GTIN encoded in the QR code.
## Export Your GS1 Setup [#export-your-gs1-setup]
Select **Export GS1 JSON** when you need a portable copy of the GS1 configuration. Export requires a paid plan.
After a paid subscription ends, GeoQR provides 30 days of read-only export access. Download the file during that period if you need to keep it.
## Advanced GS1 Details [#advanced-gs1-details]
GeoQR currently authors GS1 application identifier 01 for GTINs. Other primary identifiers and compressed Digital Link syntax are not supported.
Compatible systems can request a redirect, an information page, JSON, JSON-LD, or a linkset. The `/.well-known/gs1resolver` address describes the resolver's capabilities for specialist integrations.

# QR Codes (/docs/qr-codes)
GeoQR lets you change where an existing QR code sends people without replacing the printed artwork.
## Create a Simple QR Code [#create-a-simple-qr-code]
Choose
**Standard QR**
unless you specifically need a GS1 retail product code.
Enter the web page people should visit and give the QR code a recognizable name.
Choose a design, then create the QR code. It becomes active immediately.
Scan the finished QR code with your phone before sharing or printing it.
You can add campaigns, tags, device or country destinations, temporary schedules, and tracking later.
## Quick Create [#quick-create]
Quick Create is useful when you already have a destination and want the shortest creation flow. It asks for a web address, domain, optional internal name, and optional saved design template.
Quick Create produces an active QR code, so test it as soon as it opens in the editor.
## Related Organization Tools [#related-organization-tools]
* [Campaigns](/docs/campaigns) group related QR codes and reuse tracking labels.
* [Tags](/docs/tags) provide reusable labels for QR and analytics filtering.
* [Media](/docs/media) stores reusable artwork.
* [Domains](/docs/domains) provides branded serving domains on eligible plans.
* [Analytics](/docs/analytics) shows scan activity after publication.
# Edit and Manage QR Codes (/docs/qr-codes/manage-existing-qr-codes)
Open a QR code from the QR Codes list or a campaign detail page. The editor separates controls into **General**, **Destinations**, and **Design**.
## General [#general]
Use **General** for:
* internal name
* serving domain where it can still be changed
* campaign assignment
* UTM tracking and campaign-linked or QR-specific values
* tags
Tag assignment is saved immediately when selected. It is not part of the main **Save changes** action.
## Destinations [#destinations]
Use **Destinations** for:
* default fallback
* iOS and Android rules
* country rules
* combined device-and-country rules
* temporary schedules
* GS1 default and typed resources, when applicable
Read [Choose Where Scans Go](/docs/qr-codes/destination-rules) to learn which destination GeoQR uses when several choices could apply.
## Design [#design]
Use **Design** for colors, modules, eyes, frames, labels, linked media, and reusable templates. GS1 codes also expose product-identifier artwork and GS1-specific design guidance.
## Save, Discard, and Live Changes [#save-discard-and-live-changes]
* **Discard** restores unsaved main-form changes.
* **Save changes** saves changes from the General, Destinations, and Design tabs.
* Saving an existing QR updates its live behavior after a confirmation warning.
* Tag selections are immediate and are not reverted by discarding the main form.
A destination or tracking change affects future scans behind the existing printed code. Review the confirmation and test the live QR immediately after saving.
## Redirect Verification [#redirect-verification]
The editor shows a safety status for configured links and lets you verify individual destinations. Save a newly entered link before trying to verify it.
Do not assume the artwork preview proves the destination works. Test the live link with the devices, countries, and schedule conditions your rollout depends on.
## After a Downgrade [#after-a-downgrade]
If a downgrade leaves the organization above its QR code or domain limit, existing QR codes remain live. Items above the new limit become read-only.
To regain editing access:
1. upgrade to a plan that covers the current usage, or
2. ask an owner to delete other QR codes or domains until usage fits the current plan
GeoQR keeps existing QR codes working during this state so printed codes do not break.
## Delete a QR Code [#delete-a-qr-code]
Only an organization owner can delete a QR code.
1. Open **QR Codes**.
2. Open the three-dot menu on the QR code's row.
3. Select **Delete** and review the warning.
4. Confirm **Delete QR code**.
Deleting a QR code frees one place in the plan, but the QR code immediately stops working when scanned. Deletion cannot be undone. Historical scan events can remain in Analytics and are labeled **Deleted QR code**.
If the QR code appears on packaging, signs, labels, or other distributed material, deleting it will break every existing copy.
## GS1-Specific Editing [#gs1-specific-editing]
You cannot change the domain on an existing GS1 QR code. You can still update its available product links and export its configuration while your plan allows it. Read [GS1 Digital Link](/docs/qr-codes/gs1-digital-link) before changing an existing product QR code.

# Test and Share (/docs/qr-codes/publish-and-share)
Every QR code is active as soon as it is created and counts against the organization's QR code limit.
## Before Sharing [#before-sharing]
Confirm:
* the internal name identifies the QR code clearly
* the serving domain is correct
* the default HTTPS destination works
* device and country destinations behave in the order you expect
* a dependable regular destination is available before, after, or if a scheduled link cannot be used
* campaign tracking labels and any QR-specific overrides are correct
* the design has strong contrast and enough empty space around the code
* GS1 codes use the correct GTIN and permanent domain
## Creation and Plan Limits [#creation-and-plan-limits]
You need available plan capacity before creating a QR code. To create another after reaching the limit, delete an unused QR code or upgrade first.
## Test the Live QR [#test-the-live-qr]
Test the actual QR code rather than only opening destination URLs manually.
1. Scan from a real device.
2. Repeat with each important device and country combination.
3. Check before, during, and after scheduled windows.
4. Check that any expected tracking labels appear in the final web address.
5. Allow a short processing time, then check Analytics or Events for the scans.
## Export and Distribute [#export-and-distribute]
Export the QR in a format and size appropriate for its destination. Test the final file after it has been placed into the real sign, label, packaging, or digital layout.
Keep a record of the GeoQR item used for each placement. Campaigns and tags make later updates easier to find.
## Updating After Distribution [#updating-after-distribution]
You can update where an existing Standard QR sends people without reprinting it. Saved destination changes apply to future scans immediately.
For GS1 Digital Link, you cannot change the domain after creating the QR code. You can still edit other available settings when your role and plan allow it.

# Team and Access (/docs/team-access)
Use this section when you need to manage people, understand role limits, or change organization-level settings safely.
## Who Usually Handles What [#who-usually-handles-what]
Owners handle high-risk actions such as billing changes and organization deletion.
Admins usually manage day-to-day member operations and organizational settings.
Members focus on QR work, analytics, and normal usage inside the permissions they already have.
## When Something Is Missing [#when-something-is-missing]
Check [Roles and Permissions](/docs/team-access/roles-and-permissions) first. If the option is still missing, ask an owner or admin to perform the action.
That usually means your role is too limited or the organization has lost billing access. Continue with [Billing](/docs/billing) and [Billing and Access Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/billing-and-access-issues).
Use the account menu in the sidebar, open the organization section, and select the organization you want to work in.
# Organization and Members (/docs/team-access/organization-and-members)
Open organization settings to manage the workspace identity, accepted members, and pending invitations.
## Member Capacity by Plan [#member-capacity-by-plan]
| Plan | Accepted members |
| ------- | ---------------: |
| Free | 1 |
| Starter | 3 |
| Growth | 10 |
| Scale | 25 |
The owner counts as an accepted member. Pending invitations do not reserve seats, but an invitation cannot add someone when the organization has reached its accepted-member limit.
If the organization is at or above its limit, remove a member or upgrade before inviting someone else. A downgrade does not automatically remove existing members.
## Invite a Teammate [#invite-a-teammate]
1. Open **Settings → Members**.
2. Enter the teammate's email address.
3. Choose Owner, Admin, or Member as allowed.
4. Send the invitation.
Use the email address the person will use for GeoQR. They must sign in with that same address to accept.
Owners and admins can review pending invitations and cancel invitations that are no longer needed.
## Manage Existing Members [#manage-existing-members]
Depending on your role, you can change roles, remove members, and review member details. High-risk ownership changes may be restricted to owners.
Removing a member removes their organization access. It does not delete organization-owned QR codes, campaigns, tags, domains, media, or analytics.
## Organization Details [#organization-details]
Owners and admins can update the organization name and its unique identifier, called a **slug**, where permitted. The slug distinguishes the organization from others and is required when confirming organization deletion.
## Switch Organizations [#switch-organizations]
Open the account menu in the sidebar, find **Organization**, and select another workspace. GeoQR updates the active context for every product area.
## Delete an Organization [#delete-an-organization]
Organization deletion is separate from account deletion.
* only an owner can request it
* you must enter the organization's current slug—the unique identifier shown in its settings—to confirm
* an active subscription must be canceled from **Settings → Billing**, and you must wait for paid access to end
* if Billing shows **Trialing**, cancel it from **Manage subscription** when available and wait for that existing trial access to end
* deletion is scheduled rather than immediate
* you can cancel during the seven-day waiting period
Deleting your personal account does not delete an organization you own. Transfer ownership or delete the organization before deleting the owner account.

# Roles and Permissions (/docs/team-access/roles-and-permissions)
Your role decides which changes you can make. Your plan decides how many QR codes, domains, members, and other resources your organization can use.
## Permissions at a Glance [#permissions-at-a-glance]
| Action | Member | Admin | Owner |
| ---------------------------------------------------------- | :----: | :---: | :---: |
| View QR codes, campaigns, tags, analytics, and scan events | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Create QR codes, campaigns, and tags | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Edit existing QR codes, campaigns, and tags | No | Yes | Yes |
| Delete a QR code | No | No | Yes |
| Add or update a custom domain | No | Yes | Yes |
| Delete a custom domain | No | No | Yes |
| Upload media | No | Yes | Yes |
| Delete media | No | No | Yes |
| Invite or manage members | No | Yes | Yes |
| Manage billing | No | Yes | Yes |
| Delete the organization | No | No | Yes |
Members can change the tags on a QR code they created. An admin or owner is needed for broader changes to shared QR codes, campaigns, tags, domains, and media.
## Choosing a Role [#choosing-a-role]
* Choose **Member** for someone who needs to create QR codes and review results without managing shared settings.
* Choose **Admin** for someone who runs day-to-day work, manages teammates, or updates shared content.
* Choose **Owner** only for someone who also needs full deletion and ownership control.
## When an Action Is Unavailable [#when-an-action-is-unavailable]
1. Confirm that you opened the correct organization.
2. Check your role in **Settings → Members**.
3. Check usage and limits in **Settings → Billing**.
4. If the organization recently downgraded, check whether the item is read-only because it is above the new plan limit.
5. Ask an admin or owner if your role does not include the action.
Even an owner cannot exceed the organization's plan limits. For example, an owner cannot invite another teammate when all member places are used.

# Tags (/docs/tags)
Tags are reusable, color-coded labels for organizing QR codes inside an organization. They do not change scan destinations or QR artwork.
## Create and Manage Tags [#create-and-manage-tags]
1. Open **Tags** from the sidebar.
2. Select **Create tag**.
3. Enter a name and choose a color.
4. Save the tag.
Tag names can contain up to 64 characters. Organization owners and admins can rename, recolor, and delete tags.
Deleting a tag removes its assignments. It does not delete the QR codes or change their destinations.
## Assign Tags to a QR Code [#assign-tags-to-a-qr-code]
Open a QR code and use the tag field on its **General** tab. A QR code can have up to 50 tags.
Tag assignment is saved immediately when you change the selection. It is separate from the main QR form's **Save changes** action.
Owners and admins can update tags on QR codes throughout the organization. A member can update tags on a QR code they created, but broader QR updates require an owner or admin.
## Filter with Tags [#filter-with-tags]
Use tags to narrow:
* the QR Codes list
* Analytics
* Events
When you select multiple tags in analytics, GeoQR returns QR codes that have all selected tags.
## Good Tagging Practices [#good-tagging-practices]
* Use stable categories such as region, channel, store, team, or lifecycle.
* Keep campaign names in Campaigns rather than duplicating every campaign as a tag.
* Use a consistent color meaning across the organization.
* Delete tags only after checking whether teammates still use them as filters.

# Billing and Access Issues (/docs/troubleshooting/billing-and-access-issues)
New organizations always have Free access. When an action is unavailable, first separate a role restriction from a plan-capacity restriction.
## Check These First [#check-these-first]
1. Confirm the active organization.
2. Open **Settings → Billing** and review the current plan and usage.
3. Check your role in Members settings.
4. Look for a plan-limit notice on the affected item.
## Paid Checkout Was Not Completed [#paid-checkout-was-not-completed]
Abandoned or failed paid checkout leaves the organization on Free. Return to Billing, select the intended paid plan, and complete checkout. Do not expect an incomplete checkout to raise the organization's limits.
## I Reached a Resource Limit [#i-reached-a-resource-limit]
Compare current usage with [Choose a Plan](/docs/getting-started/choose-a-plan).
* Ask an owner to delete an unused QR code, or upgrade before creating another. Deletion stops the QR code and cannot be undone.
* Ask an owner to delete unused media before uploading beyond the media limit.
* Ask an owner to delete unused domains, or upgrade before adding another domain.
* Remove an accepted member or upgrade before inviting another teammate.
Every created QR code is active immediately and consumes the plan's QR code allowance.
## A QR Code or Domain Became Read-Only [#a-qr-code-or-domain-became-read-only]
After a cancellation or downgrade, QR codes and domains above the new plan limit remain live but cannot be changed.
To restore management access:
* upgrade to a plan covering current usage, or
* reduce usage until the resource is within the current allowance
GeoQR keeps the earliest created QR codes and domains editable within the allowance. Ask an owner to delete other QR codes or domains as directed by the app. Only delete a QR code that is no longer printed or distributed.
## Free Analytics Stopped Showing New Scans [#free-analytics-stopped-showing-new-scans]
Free includes 2,500 visible scans per calendar month, counted in UTC. GeoQR shows **Approaching limit** at 80% and **Limit reached** at 100%. Reaching the allowance does not stop QR codes from working.
Visibility resumes at the next monthly reset. If you upgrade sooner, scans that are still within the plan's storage period can appear immediately. Scans already deleted because they were older than the storage period cannot be recovered.
## I Cannot Invite a Member [#i-cannot-invite-a-member]
Seat limits count accepted members, including the owner. Pending invitations do not reserve seats, but the organization must have capacity before another member can join. Remove a member or upgrade.
## Subscription State Looks Wrong [#subscription-state-looks-wrong]
Refresh Billing after checkout or after changing the subscription. If the displayed plan still does not match the completed subscription, note the organization, expected plan, checkout result, and displayed status before contacting support.
## GS1 Export Is Unavailable [#gs1-export-is-unavailable]
GS1 configuration export requires a paid plan. After paid access ends, you have 30 days to download the configuration before export becomes unavailable.

# FAQ (/docs/troubleshooting/faq)
## Does a New Organization Need Payment Details? [#does-a-new-organization-need-payment-details]
No. New organizations enter GeoQR on the permanent Free plan without checkout or payment details.
## Does a Free QR Stop Redirecting After 2,500 Scans? [#does-a-free-qr-stop-redirecting-after-2500-scans]
No. Free shows up to 2,500 scans in Analytics each month after recognized automated traffic is removed. The QR code continues to work after that limit is reached.
## Can I Belong to More Than One Organization? [#can-i-belong-to-more-than-one-organization]
Yes. Use the account menu's **Organization** section to switch active workspaces.
## Why Can I See an Area but Not Use an Action? [#why-can-i-see-an-area-but-not-use-an-action]
Check your role and the organization's current plan usage. After a downgrade, GeoQR may also keep a QR code or domain live while temporarily preventing edits.
## What Happens to Live QR Codes After a Downgrade? [#what-happens-to-live-qr-codes-after-a-downgrade]
QR codes above the new plan limit remain live, but you cannot edit them. Upgrade, or ask an owner to delete enough unused QR codes to restore editing. Deleting a QR code stops it from working and cannot be undone.
## How Are Device and Country Rules Prioritized? [#how-are-device-and-country-rules-prioritized]
GeoQR checks device-and-country, device, country, and then the default destination.
## Does Assigning a Campaign Enable UTM Tracking? [#does-assigning-a-campaign-enable-utm-tracking]
Yes, when the campaign has tracking labels. They apply by default to assigned QR codes, and you can override individual values on a QR code.
## Are Campaign Planning Dates a Schedule? [#are-campaign-planning-dates-a-schedule]
No. Planning dates are organizational context. Configure a temporary destination schedule on the destination itself when scan behavior must change during a time window.
## Are Analytics Dates Based on My Account Timezone? [#are-analytics-dates-based-on-my-account-timezone]
No. Analytics days use UTC, a universal time standard. This can differ from your local day.
## Why Is a City or Referrer Missing from a Breakdown? [#why-is-a-city-or-referrer-missing-from-a-breakdown]
GeoQR hides city and referring-site groups with fewer than five scans to protect privacy. Location or referring-site information can also be unavailable.
## Does GeoQR Store Raw IP Addresses for Estimated Unique Scanners? [#does-geoqr-store-raw-ip-addresses-for-estimated-unique-scanners]
No. GeoQR creates a privacy-friendly daily estimate without storing raw IP addresses. It is an estimate, not an exact count of people.
## Can I Use a Custom Domain on Free? [#can-i-use-a-custom-domain-on-free]
No. Custom domains are available on Starter and higher plans.
## Can I Save More QR Codes Than My Plan Limit? [#can-i-save-more-qr-codes-than-my-plan-limit]
No. Every QR code is active immediately after creation and counts toward the plan limit. Delete an unused QR code or upgrade before creating another.
## How Do Email Verification and 2FA Differ? [#how-do-email-verification-and-2fa-differ]
Email verification uses a six-digit code that expires after five minutes. Two-factor sign-in uses an authenticator code or a single-use backup code after password sign-in.

# Troubleshooting (/docs/troubleshooting)
When something is broken, start with the closest symptom instead of scanning the whole help center.
## Start With The Symptom [#start-with-the-symptom]
Start with [Invitation and Login Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/invitation-and-login-issues).
Check [Roles and Permissions](/docs/team-access/roles-and-permissions), then use [Billing and Access Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/billing-and-access-issues) for plan limits or read-only items after a downgrade.
Start with [QR Code and Scan Issues](/docs/troubleshooting/qr-code-and-scan-issues), then verify the underlying setup in [QR Codes](/docs/qr-codes) or [Domains](/docs/domains).
Open [FAQ](/docs/troubleshooting/faq) first.
# Invitation and Login Issues (/docs/troubleshooting/invitation-and-login-issues)
## The Verification Code Did Not Arrive [#the-verification-code-did-not-arrive]
GeoQR sends a six-digit code rather than a clickable verification link.
1. Confirm the email address shown on the verification page.
2. Check spam or junk folders.
3. Wait briefly for delivery.
4. Select **Resend verification code**.
Codes expire after five minutes. Resending provides the code you should use. If the email address is wrong, select **Change email** and sign up with the correct address.
## The Code Is Invalid or Expired [#the-code-is-invalid-or-expired]
Check all six digits and use the newest usable code. After too many failed attempts or an expiry, select **Resend verification code** before trying again.
Signing in again does not automatically send another code. Use **Resend verification code** on the verification page.
## Password Sign-In Fails [#password-sign-in-fails]
* Confirm the email address and password.
* Use **Forgot password** when you no longer know the password.
* Complete email verification if GeoQR redirects you there.
* Complete 2FA if password verification succeeds but a challenge appears.
## Two-Factor Sign-In Fails [#two-factor-sign-in-fails]
Use the latest six-digit authenticator code or switch to one unused backup code. Each backup code works once.
If the challenge expired, return to login and start again. **Trust this device for 30 days** applies only after a successful challenge.
## The Invitation Email Does Not Match [#the-invitation-email-does-not-match]
The signed-in account must use the invitation's email address. Sign out and use the matching account, or create a new account with that exact email.
After authentication, return to the invitation preview and explicitly accept it. Creating an account does not accept the invitation automatically.
## The Invitation Is Expired or Missing [#the-invitation-is-expired-or-missing]
Ask an organization owner or admin to check pending invitations and send a new one. Canceled, declined, accepted, or expired invitations cannot be reused.
## I Entered the Wrong Organization [#i-entered-the-wrong-organization]
Open the account menu, find **Organization**, and select the correct workspace. If no organization is active, GeoQR returns you to organization selection.
## I Was Not Returned to the Page I Opened [#i-was-not-returned-to-the-page-i-opened]
GeoQR normally returns you to the page you opened before signing in. If it cannot do that safely, it opens your dashboard or asks you to choose an organization instead.

# QR Code and Scan Issues (/docs/troubleshooting/qr-code-and-scan-issues)
Start by scanning the QR code with a real phone. Note which phone you used, where you were, when you scanned, which page opened, and which page you expected.
## The QR Code Does Not Scan [#the-qr-code-does-not-scan]
* Test the exported or printed artwork, not only the editor preview.
* Increase physical size and contrast.
* Preserve clear space around the code.
* Remove or reduce a logo, frame, or heavy styling.
* Try another camera app and device.
* For GS1 artwork, keep at least four modules of clear space on every side.
## Creating or Saving Is Blocked [#creating-or-saving-is-blocked]
Check whether:
* the default destination is valid HTTPS
* a GS1 GTIN is valid
* the serving domain is ready
* redirect-safety checks require attention
* the organization has QR code capacity
* the QR became read-only after a downgrade
* your role allows the action
## The Wrong Destination Opens [#the-wrong-destination-opens]
When more than one destination could apply, GeoQR checks them in this order:
1. device and country
2. device
3. country
4. default
A destination for both a device and a country wins over one set only for the device or country. If GeoQR cannot identify the device or country, it uses the next matching choice and eventually the default destination.
Temporarily simplify the setup to the default destination, then restore and test each rule from lowest to highest priority.
## A Scheduled Destination Is Early, Late, or Missing [#a-scheduled-destination-is-early-late-or-missing]
* Confirm the city or time zone selected for the schedule.
* Remember that the temporary destination starts at the selected start time and stops at the selected end time.
* Confirm at least one boundary and a valid HTTPS temporary URL.
* Check daylight-saving transitions around the selected local time.
* Remember that schedules do not recur.
* Test the normal destination outside the active period.
If the temporary link is invalid or fails GeoQR's safety check, GeoQR uses the regular destination instead. This keeps a bad temporary link from breaking the QR code.
## UTM Parameters Are Missing [#utm-parameters-are-missing]
When a campaign has tracking labels, they apply by default to its QR codes. If expected parameters are missing, check the campaign values and any QR-specific overrides in the QR code's **General** tab.
GeoQR chooses each tracking value in this order:
1. QR override
2. campaign default
3. no value
If you intentionally leave a QR-specific value blank, GeoQR does not use the campaign's value for that field. GeoQR adds the resulting tracking labels to whichever destination it chooses.
## A Destination Is Unverified or Blocked [#a-destination-is-unverified-or-blocked]
Save a newly entered link before trying to verify it. Use the verification controls beside the affected link. If a link fails the safety check, correct or remove it and save again.
## A QR Code Cannot Be Edited [#a-qr-code-cannot-be-edited]
After a downgrade, a QR code above the new plan limit keeps working but becomes read-only. Upgrade, or ask an owner to delete enough other QR codes to restore editing. Deleting a QR code stops it from working and cannot be undone.
## Analytics Does Not Show the Scan [#analytics-does-not-show-the-scan]
* Automated requests and system checks are not counted as scans.
* Free shows up to 2,500 scans per calendar month, counted in UTC. GeoQR shows **Approaching limit** at 80% and **Limit reached** at 100%.
* Your plan may not store scans far enough back for the selected dates.
* One of your selected filters may exclude the scan. Clear all filters and try again.
* GeoQR hides very small city and referring-site groups to protect visitor privacy.
* Processing can take a short time before a scan appears.
The QR code keeps working when the Free allowance is reached. Visibility returns at the next monthly reset. If you upgrade sooner, scans that are still stored can appear immediately.
## GS1 Behavior Is Unexpected [#gs1-behavior-is-unexpected]
Confirm that you entered the correct GTIN, that each product link starts with HTTPS, and that you used each link type only once. You cannot change the domain after creating a GS1 QR code.
